Communication Science Lecturers and Staff Attend ‘Meaningful Resilience’ Workshop
Lecturers and educational staff (tendik) of the Communication Science Study Program participated in a workshop and team-building activity organized by the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FISHUM), UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, on Saturday, November 8, 2025.
The event, titled "Meaningful Resilience: Empowering Skills in the Digital Era," was designed with the primary objective of strengthening resilience in the digital age while enhancing the sense of togetherness within the FISHUM extended family.
The participation of the Communication Science program was part of a total of 59 attendees, comprising lecturers, educational staff, and employees within the faculty. The series of events took place in two different locations. The first session focused on team building and a jeep trip at the Glagah Beach Lagoon, Kulonprogo, followed by a workshop session at Joglo Resodinomo, Sleman.
The workshop was officially opened by the Dean of FISHUM, Prof. Dr. Erika Setyanti Kusumaputri, S.Psi., M.Si. In her remarks, the Dean underscored the importance of synergy among all elements of the faculty and expressed hope that the togetherness of FISHUM as a large family would be further strengthened.
Entering the core session, material was presented by the Vice Dean for General Administration and Finance, Dr. Astri Hanjarwati, S.Sos., M.A., guided by moderator Ummu Samhah Mufarrihah, M.A.
Dr. Astri highlighted various adaptation challenges faced by lecturers and staff amidst the campus digital transformation process. She identified a variety of pressures, ranging from professional and spiritual pressures to digital stress and issues of work-life imbalance faced by the staff.
It is hoped that this warm event will not only succeed in tightening cohesion but also encourage the creation of a working climate within FISHUM that is more collaborative, empathetic, and resilient in facing the demands of the digital era.
