POP 2021 UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta Supports National Vaccination Program with "Indonesia Bervaksin" Campaign

Party of PR (POP) is the work of students of Communication Sciences Sunan Kalijaga State Islamic University Yogyakarta, especially Ikom students who concentrate in the field of Public Relations. The existence of POP aims to accommodate the development of Ikom PR students in honing soft skills and hard skills, as well as providing space for students to widen relations in the national sphere. In addition, the existence of POP can also raise the Brand of Public Relations in the Communication Science Program UIN Suka.
POP 2021 raised the theme of "Indonesia Berfaksin" with the aim of assisting the government in campaigning for a National Vaccination program that has previously been hit by negative issues such as untested levels of safety, side effects that can cause paralysis etc.
This year, POP was held on June 2-4, 2021 with a full online system through Zoom media, considering that it is still in the covid-19 pandemic that is supposed to avoid activities that have the potential to invite crowds. The series of events POP 2021 includes national competitions, national seminars, Party of PR Community, and warding.
Campaign PR Competition and News Presenter
The competition is a flagship program in various events in the student realm. This is due to the encouragement in an effort to foster a competitive spirit for students to improve academic and non-academic achievement. Pop competition that is open registration on April 4, 2021 and close entry works on May 1, 2021 focuses on two (2) competitions.
First, PR Camp is a race with emphasis on several aspects of assessment that include authorship, problem analysis, creativity in presenting solution programs, relevance to the implementation of the program and the cohesiveness of teamwork seen during the presentation. Participants of the competition are communication science students from various universities throughout Indonesia. The flow of the POP competition process begins with group registration consisting of 3 members from the same campus. This means that each member in a group is not allowed to come from a different campus.
The selection process at CAMPIGN PR runs very strictly because it is through the monitoring of experts in the field of public relations. the jury with a practitioner background in representing Public Relations of Jogja International Hospital (JIH) Yogyakarta, namely Febrian Endah Sari, S.Ikom. The jury with academic background is represented by Niken Puspita Sari, S.IP., M. A. and Drs. Bono Setyo, M.Si. kedanya is a lecturer in Public Relations of Communication Sciences study program, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Campus.
second, News Preseter is a competition based on the assessment aspect that emphasizes on personal ability in showing the skills of a presenter. In contrast to Campign's PR that prioritizes the ability to analyze and creativity of the program, in the eyes of this competition the establishment of Public Speaking which includes language skills, voice intonation, word emphasis, body and appearance are important things to be aware of.
Enthusiastic participants from various public and private campuses added to the fun in the judging process of news presenters. Participants of this competition came from several well-known universities, such as Gadjah Mada University (UGM) Yogyakarta, Yogyakarta State University (UNY), National Development University (UPN) "Veteran" Yogyakarta, Padjajaran University (UNPAD) Banten, Sunan Kalijaga State Islamic University Yogyakarta, Garut University and Yoyakarta University of Respati (UNRIYO).
To maintain the quality of selection of finalilis participants, pop committee presents judges who are experienced in their fields such as Risa Karmida, M. A., Dr. Diah Ajeng Purwani, S.Sos., M.Si., and Drs. Siantari Rihartono, M.Si. the three news presenter judges are academics and some of them are also practitioners.
PR Talk "Factored Indonesia"
On the second day, precisely on Tuesday morning, June 3, 2021, a series of POP events held a PR Talk with the theme "Indonesia Bervaksin". The event was conducted in full online through Zoom media that connects between the speakers and participants. This theme becomes interesting to discuss because of the many opinions about national vaccination programs circulating in cyberspace, ranging from negative to positive. Various points of view of the pros and cons of the national vaccination program triggered unrest in the community in seeking the truth from a reliable academic.
Speakers at the PR Talk event, discussing the national vaccination program from three (3) points of view. The main speaker presents a practitioner in the field of health, namely dr. Shafira Ninditya Auliya, he is a Medical Doctor and Health Influencer. His activeness on social media with an attractive appearance, inviting the number of followers on instagram and Tik-tok accounts belonging to graduates of the University of Indonesia. Thus, it makes it easier for these young doctors to provide health education to netizens through social media. "Vaccination aims to provide specific immunity to a particular disease. So, if at any time exposed to the disease, then it does not hurt or hurt lightly" explained dr. Shafira in her matrimony during the PR Talk.
The second speaker from academic background, conveyed by uin Communication Science professor Sunan Kalijaga, Prof. Dr. Iswandi Syahputra, S.Sosi, M. A. In addition to having expertise in the academic field, he is also a person who has experience in the field of journalist practitioners and writing books. The material presented by the lecturer who also served as Vice Rector 1 is about how the process of flowing information about vaccines simpaing siur. "the tendency of the citizens was carried away by the flow of hoax vaksi., Hoax vaccine was reviewed through big data, there are five peaks of netizen conversation in social mdia related to covid. Everything is negative to the vaccine" said iswandi.
The next speaker came from a PR practitioner named Rahmanda Mutia Primardani, namely a PR Grand Rohan Jogja and marketing communications Lafayette Boutique Hotel Yogyakarta. In this sara sumber alumin session of Universitas Airlangga(Unair) Surabaya, he gave an explanation about how a PR practitioner behaves in the face of the flood of pro-cons information about the national vaccination program. On Tuesday afternoon, June 3, 2021, POP gave a different face from some previous events, namely a casual talk with the PR community in the communication science program from several campuses. In this session, POP Comm took advantage of Instagram media through a live @patyofpr account that collaborates with community on other campuses. This event took place by presenting representatives from The University of Lampung, Muhammadiyah University of Solo, Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta and pro UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta community. The event was guided by a finalist of the campus ambassador named Alya Dwi Salsabila by discussing various topics around PR and Vaccines.
Awarding Night POP 2021
Friday night, July 4, 2021 is the peak event that is awaited by all participants and participants, especially for finalists who have passed the second selection stage with an online presentation that can not wait for the final result of the announcement of the champion of the RACE PR Campign and News Presenter. This peak night is a series of POP 2021 events that have been prepared for 3 months.
Tonight's excitement was marked by the reading of the nominations for the second place in the race. In PR Campign, the first place was won by Tim Maleo from Tadulako University, Palu, Central Sulawesi. The second place was occupied by Aptiandaru team, Udayana University, Bali and the third place was won by PRO Sasageyo team of Sunan Kalijaga State Islamic University yogyakarta. As for the news presenter competition, the first and second place in sabet by students from UIN Sunan Kalijaga named Agnia Melianasari in the first place and Istiana in the second rank. For the 3rd rank was achieved by a student from the University of Garut named Jilani Maher Faiza. Various online performances held tonight mark the end of POP 2021 and will resume in the coming year.
