Yogyakarta – The Department of Communication Studies at UIN Sunan Kalijaga actively participated in the opening of the Internal Quality Audit (AMI) for Research and Community Service, organized by the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FISHUM). Held at the 2nd Floor Conference Room on Thursday (11/12/2025), this event served as a strategic opportunity for the department to evaluate and enhance the quality of its academic governance.

The event was officially opened by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Ambar Sari Dewi, S.Sos., M.Si., Ph.D., accompanied by the Vice Dean for General Administration, Dr. Astri Hanjarwati, S.Sos., M.A. In her opening remarks, Ambar emphasized that the AMI is not merely an administrative formality, but a fundamental pillar in establishing a sustainable culture of quality. She noted that this process is crucial to ensuring that all activities within the Three Pillars of Higher Education (Tridarma) align with established standards and contribute positively to the faculty's academic reputation.

The presence of the Head and Secretary of the Communication Studies Department demonstrated a strong commitment to ensuring the quality of faculty research and community service initiatives. Department administrators utilized this forum to review document readiness, planning alignment, and the achievement of research outcomes—ranging from scientific publications to innovative works that benefit the broader community.

Active participation in the 2025 Research and Community Service AMI also serves as a tactical step for the Communication Studies Department in preparing for external assessments. With measurable research governance grounded in quality standards, the department remains optimistic about enhancing its competitiveness and is well-prepared for upcoming national and international accreditations.
