Communication Science Student Wins Silver Medal at International Taekwondo Championship

YOGYAKARTA – Aisah Anastasia, a student from the Communication Science Study Program at UIN Sunan Kalijaga, has successfully achieved distinction on the international stage. Aisah secured the Silver Medal (2nd Place) at the Pugnator Yogyakarta Sport Tourism Taekwondo Open International Championship 2025.

This prestigious competition took place over three days, from October 3 to 5, 2025. Held at the Sports Hall (GOR) of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), the championship attracted over 3,000 athletes. Aisah Anastasia, a student from the Class of 2022 (Student ID 22107030030), competed in the Poomsae Senior Poom/Black Belt category.

The championship boasted a competitive international scale, featuring athletes not only from across Indonesia but also from various other nations. Participants included representatives from Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand, Timor Leste, and Pakistan.

Organized by Pugnator Sport Event, the competition featured three main categories: Kyorugi (performance and novice), Poomsae (performance and novice), and Speed Kicking.

Aisah’s achievement in the Senior Poomsae category adds to the growing list of proud accomplishments by students of the Communication Science Study Program at UIN Sunan Kalijaga on the international level.
