YOGYAKARTA – Communication Studies Program,The Faculty of Social and Humanities (FISHUM) at UIN Sunan Kalijaga welcomed Bernhard Rassman during the opening session of the International Visiting Lecturer (INVITE) Program on Monday, August 4, 2025, at 12:30 p.m. WIB in the FISHUM Multimedia Room. This program is the result of a collaboration between FISHUM and the Senior Experten Service (SES) from Germany.

The Dean of FISHUM, Prof. Dr. Erika Setyanti Kusumaputri, M.Si., opened the event and said that Rassman's presence was an important step in strengthening institutional digital capacity and encouraging institutional adaptation to global developments. She emphasized that Rassman's more than 30 years of experience would contribute significantly to the development of FISHUM.

The Rector of UIN Sunan Kalijaga, Prof. Dr. Phil. H. Noorhaidi Hasan, M.A., emphasized that Rassman's visit supports the university's vision of expanding its international network. He stated that the collaboration with SES will contribute to the internationalization efforts and enhance the global reputation of UIN Sunan Kalijaga.

In his speech, Rassman expressed his appreciation for the trust placed in him to collaborate with UIN Sunan Kalijaga and FISHUM. He emphasized the importance of higher education in development and stated that all parties have a responsibility for the future.

FISHUM continued the event with a discussion and question-and-answer session led by FISHUM Psychology lecturer M. Johan Nasrul Huda, Ph.D. Through this program, FISHUM is committed to strengthening international cooperation and developing institutional capacity that is adaptive to global challenges in higher education.
