As an effort to improve the quality of community service activities which are one of the pillars of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, the Communication Studies Study Program took the initiative to collaborate with the Yogyakarta City Government. The Yogyakarta City Government also welcomed the initiation and invited representatives of the Communication Studies Study Program to attend the cooperation coordination meeting at the Yogyakarta City Government office on Thursday, July 14, 2022. The purpose of the coordination meeting was to find potentials for community service collaboration. that can be done by the Communication Studies Study Program with the Yogyakarta City Government, especially in the field of digitizing MSMEs. The coordination meeting begins with an explanation of the MSME development program in each department and related sections. Each agency has had MSME digitization development programs in the Yogyakarta City area and has also collaborated with several parties, one of which is Tokopedia. However, each agency also conveyed several shortcomings and challenges that are still faced in the implementation of these programs, one of which is long-term assistance. Responding to this, Dr. Diah Ajeng Purwani conveyed that the Communication Science Study Program could fill this gap by providing long-term assistance by involving Communication Studies Study Program students who were equipped with digital branding and digital marketing knowledge and expertise. This response was also welcomed by representatives from the Yogyakarta City Government. As a follow-up to the coordination meeting, Putut Purwandono as a representative of the Cooperation Section of the Yogyakarta City Government asked the Communication Studies Study Program to formulate a community service collaboration plan that will be submitted to the Yogyakarta Government. Both parties hope that this collaboration can be realized and beneficial for many parties, especially MSMEs in the Yogyakarta City area.
