Fatma Dian Pratiwi, a lecturer in Communication Science, actively participated as the moderator of the International Conference on October 9-11, 2018 at the Toshi Center, Tokyo, Japan. The International Conference on Media, Communication &Film (MediAsia) held in partnership with some of the most prestigious academic institutions in the world, including the University of Sussex (UK) and the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University (USA), as well as some of the most important academics and practitioners working in media and film. MediAsia brought together delegates from different national backgrounds, cultures and languages to Japan, to present new research and exchange ideas. This incredible platform welcomes speakers and delegates working in any field of education, from academics and theorists to policymakers and practitioners, both in the private and public sectors, for challenging debates and stimulating discussions around the latest concepts and the latest approaches.
Fatma Dian Pratiwi also carried out research on "How Woman Presents Herself Online: Exploring The Practice of Personal Identity through Brand of Member of Female Daily Forums", regarding the role of brands as a medium to present women in virtual communities in Indonesia called Female Daily Forums. In the absence of face-to-face communication, members need something to identify as they communicate with each other.
