Head of the Communication Science Study Program of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta Dr. Mokhamad Mahfud, S.Sos.I. M.Si., had the opportunity to receive an invitation to the 6th International Maritime Security Symposium (IMSS)-2025 which took place on February 17, 2025 at the Bali International Convention Center (BICC), Nusa Dua, Bali.

The event was attended by Minister of Defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin who also opened the symposium and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Arif Havas Oegroseno who acted as a speaker in the discussion.

Chief of Naval Staff (KSAL) Admiral Muhammad Ali stated that this event has many benefits for the Indonesian Navy and the nation. “This event is very useful. Because with this sixth IMSS, we will make a joint commitment with several countries to work together in tackling problems at sea such as illegal activities (at sea),” said the Navy Chief of Staff.
Behind this event is a figure who plays an important role in realizing the success of the event. He is the Head of the Maritime Studies Center of the Indonesian Navy Staff and Command School (Pusjianmar-Seskoal) First Admiral Salim who acted as Chief of Organizer Committee (OC) in the event.

The 1995 AAL graduate attributed the success to the hard work of the team that had prepared the event for over a month. “This event is very useful for the Navy and the Indonesian people as stated by the Chief of Naval Staff. The right man in the right place, teamwork and sincere work are the keys to a successful event,” said Salim, Tuesday, February 18, 2025.

The former AAL Director of Education, who organized the first IMSS event in 2013, continues to build teamwork to develop all creativity and cohesiveness. He is very grateful for the end of the event which was attended by 13 heads of navies of the world.(red)
