UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta's Communication Studies Programme launched the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) programme in collaboration with Semesta Network. The programme involves two selected students, Fairuz Nafis Sutanto and Farid Hamam Kaeliana, with guidance from Dr. Rama Kertamukti and Dr. Fatma Dian Pratiwi.
This collaboration presents a valuable opportunity for students to dive directly into the professional world, especially in handling government clients and State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) which are the main focus of Semesta Network. Riky Riantobi, as a representative of Semesta Network, appreciated this step as a bridge between academia and industry.
For four months, Fairuz and Farid will be involved in various challenging and educational projects. They will learn first-hand about communication dynamics, marketing strategies, and managing relationships with various government agencies. Mentoring from Dr Rama Kertamukti and Dr Fatma Dian Pratiwi will ensure that this experience not only enriches their practical skills, but also reinforces the theoretical foundations they have learnt on campus.
At the end of the programme, students will present the results of their work in a comprehensive report. This presentation will be the culmination of the entire series of activities, demonstrating their deep understanding and ability to apply theory in real practice.
This programme is part of the ongoing efforts of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta's Communication Studies Programme to strengthen their curriculum with relevant and useful field experience. It is hoped that this cooperation can continue in the future, opening up more opportunities for students to learn and develop.
With this activity, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta's Communication Studies Programme shows its commitment in supporting the government's Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka programme, as well as equipping students with the skills needed to succeed in the world of work.
