On November 26-27 2023, Communication Science Study Program of the State Islamic University (UIN) Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta conducted a comparative study visit to the Islamic Communication and Broadcasting Study Program (KPI) UIN Ar Raniry in Banda Aceh. This visit aims to share experiences related to the implementation of the Independent Campus Learning Curriculum (MBKM) as well as to explore the potential for lecturer and student exchanges between the two study programs. The delegation from UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta was warmly received by the management team of the KPI UIN Ar Raniry Study Program. The event began with remarks from the heads of the two institutions, who highlighted the importance of collaboration between universities in developing the quality of education and responding to the dynamics of communication science development.
Dr. Rama Kertamukti, as a representative from UIN Sunan Kalijaga, expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to share experiences and knowledge between the two institutions. "We are confident that this collaboration will provide positive benefits for the development of communication science in Indonesia," he said. During the visit, the UIN Sunan Kalijaga delegation had the opportunity to listen to a presentation regarding the implementation of MBKM in the UIN Ar Raniry KPI Study Program. They also had the opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences with local lecturers and students. Lecturer and student exchanges are also one of the topics discussed in discussions to enrich perspectives and learning experiences.
The Dean of FDK UIN Ar-Raniry, Prof Dr Kusmawati Hatta, MPd along with the ranks of the Dean and Head of KPI Study Program Syahril Furqany, MIKom, welcomed this collaboration and stated, "This visit is not only about exchanging knowledge, but also building a closer cooperation network between higher education institutions."
Both parties agreed to continue dialogue and design concrete plans for future lecturer and student exchanges. It is hoped that this collaboration can make a positive contribution to the development of communication science and open opportunities for further collaboration between UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta and UIN Ar Raniry Banda Aceh.
The event closed with a statement of cooperation agreement signed by representatives from both institutions. We hope that this collaboration can become a strong foundation for improving the quality of education and developing communication science in Indonesia.
