ASPIKOM Discusses Projection of Cooperation and Development of MBKM

Educational development is not only carried out in the classroom, curriculum and learning bases also have an important role. Seeing this, the Indonesian Communication Science Higher Education Association (Aspikom) held a Forum Group Discussion (FGD). This time, the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) was appointed as the host. The FGD, which was held on 17-18 March 2022, reviewed the theme “MBKM Narrative and Projected Cooperation: Sharing Experiences and Partnerships”.

He reported that there were 150 participants from the Communication Studies study program throughout Indonesia who took part in the celebration. Starting from Aceh to East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). The area that most came was the campus from West Java (Jabar).

The Communication Studies Study Program of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta also enlivened the FGD by attending Dr. Rama Kertamukti, M.Sn as the Head of the Communication Studies Study Program. In addition, also attended by Dr. Yani Tri Wijayanti, M.Si as the Deputy Secretary General and the Ad Hoc CPL Aspikom Team who also made presentations.Meanwhile, the Head of Aspikom Dr. Muhamad Sulhan said that in the past he was not very interested in joining Aspikom. However, when he was invited by Mas Setio Budi, one of ASPIKOM's administrators, his thoughts became more open. The interesting and good things he got from Aspikom he shared with many parties. He also considered that Communication Studies in Indonesia will continue to develop along with the development of this Aspikom.

In addition, the Covid-19 pandemic has brought positive values to this association. One of them is the name Aspikom which exploded in the Metaverse world. This is because every month the Kowil of each region holds an agenda at least twice.

“Aspikom is always ready to face the changing times. Neat coordination and core values also continue to be implemented. This association is a big family and I welcome new friends to the Aspikom family,” he said.

On the other hand, Prof. Dr. Muslimin, M.Si. as the Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) UMM said that his party would ratify the learning outcomes of graduates (CPL) and Merdeka Learning and Merdeka Campus (MBKM). According to him, there are three aspects that must be understood when becoming a lecturer or lecturer. The three are the vision and mission of the study program, the CPL determined by the study program, and understanding the profiles of its graduates.Furthermore, Muslim considered that the themes studied in the agenda could be an important point in the development of Communication Studies in the future. Likewise with MBKM which has now become a national standard in the implementation of higher education.

“Samuel Huntington said that if you want to become a professional there are at least three conditions that must be met. Unique skills, high social responsibility and togetherness in a container. And I believe all three can be found at Aspikom Indonesia so that we can strengthen our kinship, "he concluded.
