Sharpen Communication Design, Crisis Management and Digital Media to Opal Communication in IKOM Student Activities

Jakarta, Nov 29 2024 – Communication Studies Program of the State Islamic University (UIN) Sunan Kalijaga held a visit to Opal Communication. This visit is part of the Student Activity program which aims to learn about the media production process and the challenges it faces.

CEO of Opal Communication, Kokok H. Dirgantoro, warmly welcomed the group from UIN Sunan Kalijaga. In the discussion that took place, he shared experiences about his career journey and the importance of communication in various aspects of life. He also added "The need for communication began to be seen since the 2000s. Communication will be at the forefront, and that's why Opal Communication was formed."

Kokok highlighted the importance of recruiting the younger generation, especially generation Z and millennials, to Opal Communication to keep up with the times, especially in anticipation of the increasingly dominant Artificial Intelligence (AI). He also shared Opal Communication's experience in handling various crises, one of which was the Bank Century case, which showed the vital role of communication in resolving crises.

This activity was also attended by UIN Sunan Kalijaga alumni, Mutiara, who now works in the Media Monitoring section of Opal Communication. Mutiara shared her experiences about the world of work and her role in managing information from various media. Opal Communication's Head of Media Monitoring, Mr. Satyo Nugroho, also explained that Opal Communication has been trusted by 14 leading institutions in Indonesia each year.
