Junalistic Training with the theme: Press Perception of the Young Generation
IDEKATA Community and the Communication Studies Student Association (HMPS) of Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta successfully carried out the “Junalistic Training with the theme: Press Perception of the Young Generation” online/zoom meeting. This training activity was carried out in order to provide a better understanding of journalism and the press to students and the general public.
This activity was started with an opening by the MC by sister Rennyta P, reading of the Holy Qur'an by brother Muhammad Al-Bushairi, singing together the song Indonesia Raya and the Hymn at UIN Sunan Kalijaga, the first speech was delivered by Kak Elva Oktaviani as Chair of the IDEKATA Community , the second speech was delivered by Kak Reza Furqanza as the Head of HMPS Communication Studies, the third speech was delivered by Mr. Tariq Yazid, S.Ikom, MA as IDEKATA Community Trustee, and the last speech as well as the opening of journalism training activities today was delivered by the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities UIN Sunan Kalijaga, namely Mr. Dr. Muhammad Sodik, S.Sos, M.Sc.
The presentation of the material is guided by a moderator who then invites the resource person to convey the material to the participants. The material was delivered by Ms. Muhammad Darisman or often called sis Ajo as a resource person from Jurnalis Kumparan in journalistic training activities with the theme: Press Perceptions of the Young Generation, and Ms. Ajo delivered material specifically on "Social Media and Journalist Reporting Techniques". In his presentation, Kak Ajo explained several material points that were packaged in an interesting way in the form of narrative stories, starting from his experiences when he started his career in the journalistic world, going into the field, tips on how to master reporting techniques for novice journalists, to the skills that journalists need to do. while in the field.
“Simply put, some points over the past five years that I believe in and very important are these 4 points that I have scored so far; Be observant in seeing the situation at the crime scene, Write situation reports with good language, good communication, and dare to ask questions. No matter what kind of coverage the concept is, there is no bad coverage agenda, which is when we don't apply this fourth point, when we don't dare to ask at that location! In fact, the main task of journalists, yes, ask. Yes, I don't think it's just journalists, whoever our job is here, I think asking is a very important thing, And in this world of journalists, asking is the main weapon!” said Kak Ajo who delivered one of the material points regarding important skills in the world of journalists.
Afterdelivered material that was so interesting by Kak Ajo. Next, the moderator opened a question and answer session, in which there were two question and answer sessions with three questions each. Several participants enthusiastically asked their questions, either directly in the Zoom virtual meeting or through the chat column provided. And Ka Ajo also answered these questions well and in detail.
AndAfter the question and answer session ended, the journalistic training activity with the theme : : Perception of the Press of the Young Generation was closed by the MC. The participants, which include students and the general public, are expected to be able to understand and improve their skills, especially in the fields of journalism and the press.
