Jagad Wicara Sambut Expo 2024 Hadir untuk Kenalkan Budaya Jogja
The Jagad Wicara seminar entitled "Nguri-Nguri Budaya Jogja Lumantar ing Jaman Digital" was successfully held on Tuesday, October 1, 2024. Located on the 2nd floor Convention Hall, Jagad Wicara presentedM. Yaser Arafat M.AandLatifa Zahra M.Aas speakers moderated by Muhammad Farda Setiawan. This seminar was attended by 154 participants from the new 2024 Communication Science students. Being one of a series of activities from the annual event of Communication Science students, namely Welcoming Expo 2024 in collaboration with HMPS Communication Science Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, the seminar went lively with the support of various parties. The seminar began with the recitation of the holy verses of the Qur'an, singing the national anthem and the Hymn of UIN Sunan Kalijaga, followed by remarks from Abdurrahman Aziz as Chairperson of Welcoming Expo 2024, Noviatun Nisa as Chairperson of HMPS Communication Science,Achmad Zuhri M.Ikomas WE 2024 coach, andDr. Rama Kertamukti S.Sos., M.Sn.as Head of Communication Science who also inaugurated the event by reading the decree and beating the gong.
On this occasion, M Yaser Arafat M.A conveyed how the forgotten culture comes from how people today do not want to know about the origin of things around them, for example how an area is formed, how objects around are formed from beliefs and customs. Yaser admitted, "How damaged our civilization is when we do not know the origin of the place we live in." Latifa Zahra M.A as the second speaker also explained that culture and technology are two funny words that are difficult to put together. However, they are able to support each other. She said, "Wherever you stand, just one step. There must be a history." And history is something that must be preserved.
The seminar was closed with an interesting quiz from the committee after an exciting question and answer session and followed by the presentation of souvenirs to the speakers. Participants were very enthusiastic and looked forward to the next series of Welcoming Expo. (bila/angger/red)
